Who We Are

Waimea Harrier Club was founded in 1964. The object of the Club is to encourage and practice harrier running and walking. The Club is a group of people of all ages who get together to participate in running and walking for the benefit of their fitness and general health. Based in Richmond, Nelson we are very keen on promoting both competitive running and family participation and our members come from Atawhai to Tapawera toTakaka. The Club has a truck which is set up as an event centre with a PA system and contains all the equipment necessary for timing and recording races as well as tea making facilities.

After Saturday events many of our members meet at the El Taverna Hotel, for a few drinks (be it beer or orange juice).For new members this is a great time to get to know one another and cement friendships.
